Successful candidate will work in a high paced laboratory service environment supporting various aspects of a multi-disciplined chemical/physical testing laboratory organization This laboratory position supports the manufacture and development all BAE Systems, Inc. products used in commercial, scientific, and military applications.
The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers' missions. What You'll Do:

• In addition to the Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the position and in support of the services provided by the lab, provide support in one or more of the following tasks:
  • Measure material properties under tension and compression loads to support production and R&D efforts.
  • Perform microscopic examinations of various hardware using optical and digital microscopes.
  • Assist in adhesive bonding development activities using film and liquid adhesives, autoclaves and other high-pressure equipment.
  • Perform density and other physical properties of materials.
  • Assist in preparation of metallurgical samples for microscopic examination.
  • Sample hardware and materials for molecular and particulate species for quantification and identification.
  • Perform titrations on plating baths.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of general laboratory activities.
  • Support all programs at BAE Systems, Inc., including but not limited to the Military, National Defense, and Civil business sectors.
  • Reporting location will depend on business needs (Westminster, Broomfield, and/or Boulder campuses) and individual skill sets.
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in an office, clean room, laboratory, manufacturing floor or machine shop environment.
• Laboratory, production floor, and cleanroom settings will require specific personal protective equipment to be worn.
• Will access other facilities in various weather conditions.
• Daily commute across BAE Systems, Inc. campus transporting by hand less than 20 pounds materials/chemical/equipment or pushing greater than 20 pounds material/chemical/equipment.

Hourly Rate: $25.48 - $34.62
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• High School diploma or equivalent plus 4 or more years of related experience, or a related 2-year technical degree and 2 or more years of related experience.
• Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor's or Master's, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
• Demonstrated ability to perform any and all tasks in Technician Requirements.
• Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work well as a team player.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with typical chemicals and equipment used in a chemical and physical testing laboratory.
• Demonstrated strong mathematic skills such as calculate area and volume of geometric shapes.
• Mechanical aptitude with adept fine motor skills.
• Good customer service skills.
• Demonstrated computer and mechanical, electrical, and/or laboratory skills.
• As this position requires operating a company vehicle, an offer and subsequent employment are contingent upon possessing and maintaining a valid US driver's license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $53000 - $72000
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
