Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Contracts Administrator to support the delivery of mission critical capabilities across a diverse portfolio of U.S. Government and commercial customers within the Precision Strike (PS) Business. Contract professionals are trusted business partners called to lead and manage multiple, complex contractual and business management activities in accordance with BAE Systems policies and procedures, manage customer relationships, negotiate a variety of terms and conditions, create innovative solutions and provide regulatory knowledge to our internal and external customers. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Working understanding of the U.S. Government acquisition process, contracts function, commercial contracting methods, export requirements, FAR/DFAR and other regulations.
  • Lead and support pre-award activities including analyzing requests for information, solicitations, preparing summaries, developing strategies and recommendations, preparing terms and conditions, reviewing responses or proposals for accuracy and preparing the responses or proposal documents for submittal to customer. Coordinate with other company functions and ensure appropriate reviews are scheduled and approved by management.
  • Make recommendations on responses, proposals, agreements, or contracts. Ensure coordination and other functional inputs are reflected in the terms of any offer.
  • Lead agreement or contract negotiations and collaborate with customers.
  • Perform all aspects of contract lifecycle process.
  • Prepare various agreements (e.g. bailment, proprietary information, memorandum of understanding/agreement, etc.).
  • Lead or support fact-finding or audits.
  • Act as primary point of contact between the company and the customer for all contractual matters.
  • Gain specialized knowledge in areas such as: OTAs and intellectual property.
  • Ensure proper interpretation of agreements and contracts.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree;
  • 4 or more years of related experience;
  • Lead and support the preparation of moderately complex responses, documents, letters, proposals, agreements, contracts, changes, and claims in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, contractual provisions and company policy;
  • Ability to develop specialist knowledge of the products or services;
  • Support the development and maintenance of good customer relationships whether in person or remote;
  • Utilize effective negotiation tactics such as beginning with the end in mind, building a relationship between parties, negotiation planning, creating win/win solutions, and using problem solving strategies;
  • Business acumen;
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
  • Utilize computer and software skills to prepare responses, documents, letters, agreements, reports, and presentations;
  • Proficient research, drafting, and presentation skills;
  • Reliability and attention to detail;
  • Eligible for or holds a U.S. DoD SECRET level clearance or higher;
  • FAR/DFARS knowledge and experience
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field; Master's degree or Juris Doctor degree is a plus;
  • Experience with U.S. Government contracting, commercial contracting, intellectual property and international business (foreign military sales and direct commercial sales);
  • Knowledge of and experience with negotiating U.S. Government and commercial terms and conditions
  • Knowledge of and experience with DoD Consortiums and Other Transactions
  • National Contract Management Association (NCMA) membership and certifications is a plus;
  • Holds a current U.S. DoD SECRET level clearance or higher;
  • Utilize information technology and cloud-based contracting systems;
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $71600 - $121700
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
