We are looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Technician for Interconnect Category parts and products, to perform inspection at multiple Supplier locations and follow-up on Supplier open actions; with the objective of delivering defect-free quality products to BAE program customers. The person will investigate all requirements in preparation for the source inspection and ensure inspections are performed effectively and timely. This person will work in close coordination with schedule supervisor to ensure priorities are addressed. The Supplier Quality Technician will review, evaluate, prepare and complete inspections and other tasks individually. Strong communication skills are required to ensure effective communication with suppliers and to report source inspection findings to Supplier Quality Engineers. This position is remote/work from home and requires a highly motivated, technical person with clear understanding of technical Interconnect product requirements, electrical and fiber-optic, understand critical aspect of the interface, coupling, retention and transmission, on order to address defect interpretation and support Supplier Quality Engineers decision for disposition of findings and defects, an understanding of AS9100, ISO 9001 and AS9102. The selected candidate will work with multiple suppliers and members of the Interconnect Category Supplier Quality team and in direct coordination of the assigned Mechanical Category SQE or Manager. Expected Travel requirement reaching and sometimes exceeding 50%. The ideal candidate will:
* Have the ability to visit multiple supplier locations to Perform Source Inspection of product
* Understand all requirements of a source inspection, including certificates, technical specifications and other requirements. * Possess knowledge and experience inspection, and acceptance of high reliability parts of varying complexities. Also, knowledge of mechanical assemblies and how tolerances of individual parts can accumulate and impact the final assembly.
* Determine conformity of a connecting interface, determination of suspect material and ability to clearly present findings to SQE for final conformity determination. * Close collaboration with Supervisor, Supplier Quality Engineers and Subject Matter Experts. * Ability to follow-up on Supplier actions, from Corrective Actions due to a Nonconformance, Audit Finding actions or a Fist Article Inspection. Required Education, Experience, & Skills * Bachelor's degree or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
* Work Experience with the manufacturing inspection and acceptance of all mechanical parts from multiple different manufacturing processes.
* Direct knowledge of Manufacturing processes and supply chain logistics from raw material to finished goods.
* Understanding of coating requirements and other special processes per Nadcap principles.
* Current or prior certification on IPC-A-620 and other courses related to the needs to ensure proper operation of effective, high-quality connectivity devices. * Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001.
* Effective communication skills.
* Experience with product test, equipment and instrumentation and other common processes common in the Aerospace and Defense Industries.
* Working knowledge of the principles and the purpose of a Quality Management System and RCCA or Structured Problem-solving techniques such as 8D. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills * Understanding of Requirements and Source Inspections
* Experience with fiberoptic connectivity, testing and inspection
* Direct knowledge of Manufacturing processes and supply chain logistics from raw material to finished goods
