Summary:
The Heavy Machinery Parts Counter Representative is responsible for assisting customers in identifying and acquiring the necessary parts for heavy machinery and equipment. This role involves providing excellent customer service, maintaining inventory accuracy, and possessing a strong knowledge of heavy machinery parts.
Essential Functions:
· Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
· Listen to customer inquiries and accurately identify their parts needs.
· Provide recommendations and guidance on suitable parts for their machinery.
· Assist customers in locating parts within the inventory or sourcing them externally.
· Handle customer concerns or complaints effectively and in a timely manner.
· Utilize technical manuals, catalogs, and computer systems to identify correct parts.
· Interpret technical drawings and diagrams to ensure accurate part selection.
· Monitor backorders and communicate updates to customers as needed.
· Coordinate with technicians or service departments to ensure parts compatibility.
· Assist in periodic inventory audits and reconciliation.
· Maintain accurate records of parts transactions and customer interactions.
· Process sales orders, invoices, and payments using computerized systems.
· Generate reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and customer inquiries.
· Assist with pricing updates and promotional activities.
· Other Duties as Assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the heavy machinery or automotive industry.
· Strong knowledge of heavy machinery parts and their applications.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proficiency in computerized inventory management systems and MS Office Suite.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Attention to detail and accuracy in parts identification and order processing.
· Physical ability to lift and move heavy parts when necessary.
