Bachoco OK Foods is seeking an Operations Management Trainee for or Fort Smith, AR facility. 
Summary: The operations management trainee will learn and master all aspects of Bachoco OK Foods poultry operations process. Trainees will not only gain hands-on experience in the poultry processing industry but also gain the knowledge and management skills to build upon long term career in operations. The Operations Management Trainee will learn Bachoco OK Foods fully integrated operations systems including but not limited to; Slaughter, Debone, Further Process, Prepared Foods, Maintenance & Refrigeration, wastewater treatment, CAT2, Continuous Improvement, Quality Assurance, Safety, Production scheduling, and Human Resources. Trainees will be challenged throughout the management training program to perform on-the-job tasks, complete assignments, demonstrate learning mastery, develop, and demonstrate management competencies and gain a working knowledge of the operational excellence required in each facet of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Rotates through sessions throughout various departments to gain hands on management experience in the poultry industry and an understanding of fully integrated operations systems.
  • Performs on-the-job tasks with plant operations. 
  • Completes assignments and coordinates daily activities with department leader. 
  • Understands company specifications on all products and proper operating in a safe and quality environment to achieve goals of performance.
  • Follow any and all directives set forth by senior manager. 
  • Develops and demonstrates management competencies.
  • Gains a management knowledge of poultry operations.
  • Bilingual in English / Spanish is a plus but not required. 
  • This is a safety sensitive position. 
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university. No experience required. 
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus but not required. 
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software; Word Processing software. Must be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have a valid driver's license and must qualify for the company driver program.
Travel and Relocation: There will be moderate travel to outside facilities. Must be open to relocate to outside facility after completion of the operations management training program. 
Other Qualifications: Highly organized and able to think systemically to structure the work and design in a logical flow. Other key attributes include self-motivated, organized, computer literate, attention to detail and follow through with exceptional writing and communication skills.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
