About this role: As a Lead Data Engineer, you will define the strategy and solutions in building innovative engineering, shared services, frameworks, and capabilities to enable Wells Fargo’s data management journey and cloud adoption. You will provide subject matter expertise, technology guidance, drive Wells Fargo standards, and best practices to support development teams areas in managing their technology domains and meeting customer expectations. In this role, you will: Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors Work with Enterprise Pipeline team on CI/CD, SAST, DAST tool chain Work with Cloud technology, Google Cloud and Cloudera CDP teams and teams driving the migration to those solution Design high performing data models on big-data architecture as data services. Partner with Enterprise data teams such as Data Management & Insights and Enterprise Data Environment (Data Lake) and identify the migration paths for tenant development teams. Work with business analysts, development teams, and project managers for requirements and business rules. Effectively work in a hybrid environment where legacy ETL and Data Warehouse applications and new big-data applications co-exist. Work with Infrastructure Engineers and System Administrators as appropriate in designing the big-data infrastructure. Support ongoing data management efforts for Development, QA, and Production environments. Utilize a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs. Leverage knowledge of industry trends to build best in class technology to provide competitive advantage. Act as expert technical resource to programming staff in the program development, testing, and implementation process. Required Qualifications: 5 years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 5 years of Big Data (Hadoop) Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 5 years of Technical Leadership experience Desired Qualifications: 2 years of Cloud Experience 5 years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication Strategic minded in building current processes and optimizing future enhancements (planned and executed data migration initiatives) Experience with end-to-end design and delivery of ETL processes (using multiple SOR’s) Ability to quickly establish credibility to build and maintain effective working relationships Meticulous about data integrity, and approaches quality control methodically Ability to work independently and take ownership and accountability on assigned tasks driving execution through completion Led and coached junior analysts in distributed team environment (onshore & offshore teams) Posting End Date: 29 Feb 2024 *Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.
