About this role: The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed. Within EFT we are seeking a Technology Director to lead the Enterprise Functions Technology Cloud Engineering organization, an organization within EFT Platform Management. The key responsibilities for this Technology Director include Cloud Planning, Cloud Services Enablement & Migration, Environment Integration, and Quality Engineering. In this role, you will: Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers Identify financial management and strategic resourcing Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers Lead team to achieve objectives Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy Required Qualifications: 8 years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education. 4 years of Management experience 8 years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 7 years of experience supporting enterprise level complex applications and platforms in Production 5 years of experience with Cloud technologies, its service offerings, including automation, orchestration, trends and industry-leading cloud vendor offerings 5 years of experience performing engineering and support tasks on Linux/Unix and Windows Servers 5 years of designing and building complex observability solutions leveraging industry standard toolset and/or custom built solutions Desired Qualifications: A Masters degree or higher in computer science or engineering Cloud certification on Azure, Google Cloud Platform or similar platform Experience with configuration and monitoring technologies such as Ansible, Grafana, Elastic, Splunk, Prometheus Excellent communication (oral and written) with ability to communicate at multiple levels ranging from technologists to senior managers and executive leadership Experience in providing thought-leadership, expertise to formulate and execute on major strategies to develop/deliver robust and scalable solutions Ability to deliver & engage with partners effectively in a multi-cultural environment by demonstrating co-ownership & accountability in a matrix structure Ability to develop and execute business vision, strategies, and goals Ability to research and self-study to keep technical skills relevant in a highly complex environment Delivery focus and willingness to work in a fast-paced, enterprise environment Experience with design, implementation and governance with Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing or Machine Learning Architecture Experience with Agile, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD), DevOps concepts, and Site Reliability Engineering principles Knowledge and understanding of application or software security such as: web application penetration testing, secure code review, secure static code analysis Knowledge and understanding of complex enterprise systems and frameworks including frontends, middleware, services layer, database, backend, and downstream interfaces Job Expectations: Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening This position offers a hybrid work schedule This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship Job Expectations: Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening.
