Preconstruction Manager Job Posting

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to join our team. You will lead our Design-Build projects and assist the preconstruction department in budgeting and construction estimating. The ideal candidate for this position should have extensive experience with civil design/drafting, and approval processes. This is a full-time position with plenty of room for advancement.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop preconstruction strategies and plans.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of project requirements, including reviewing plans, specifications, and other relevant documents.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and attorneys to ensure project feasibility and compliance with regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings and presentations to provide expertise on preconstruction matters.
  • Monitor and push project progress through the design and preconstruction phase.
  • Receive new Design-Build project opportunities as assigned via supervisor or requested from Client(s).
  • Assemble and send Design Proposals to Clients for review and approval.
  • Collect, file, and distribute all important documents to correct parties to assist with design development.
  • Lead permit acquisition services for Client to required municipalities.
  • Work collaboratively with internal B. Tait staff on handing off a completed Design job to the Project Management Department in order to begin the construction phase.
  • Review all contracted design firm(s) monthly invoices and approve for payment.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with potential/new designers, and Clients.

Skills Required:

  • Experience in civil design and approval processes required.
  • Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
  • Experience with construction management software like Procore and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Experience in Construction Design or Drafting required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimating and budgeting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines.
  • AutoCAD (or similar) experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
