Job: Subframe Welder
Classification: Non-exempt
Schedule: 10-hour shift, Monday – Thursday. Overtime as assigned. Very competitive wage and a $2000 sign-on bonus!
Job summary: A Subframe welder will join metal with tools to build a frame to support utility bodies.
Responsibilities: Must be able to read and understand blueprints prior to starting a project. Source the materials to be used in that project. Must be accurate at measuring and cutting materials to specifications. Able to use the correct welding materials to join the metals together. Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage. Check finished work to make sure it falls within tolerances on the blueprint. Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills: Knowledge of subframe welding techniques is a plus. Capable of the lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble subframes. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Physical requirements: May have to lift-up to 50-100 lbs. with help. Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead. Must have dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
