What do we do?

Azure Summit Technology provides a wide range of multi-channel, software-defined radio solutions for applications including surveillance, communications, radar, direction finding, emitter location, and interference cancellation. Systems can be tailored to meet a variety of requirements for bandwidth, dynamic range, number of channels, and computational resources. Supported platforms range from resource-constrained small UAVs and wearable devices to manned aircraft and submarines. Azure also offers innovative signal processing solutions to challenging problems in the realm of radio frequency spectrum awareness.

What will you do?

Azure Summit Technology is currently seeking a Systems Administrator. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic, growing, cross-functional, and geographically distributed team. This position is located on-site at our Fairfax, VA, facility with occasional overnight travel to our office in Melbourne, FL, and/or other locations as needed to support customer activities. Your future team has worked together to produce the following job description:

The selected candidate will report to the corporate Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and will be responsible for the information security posture for the company and will be responsible for the implementation of information systems at our Fairfax, Virginia, location. This position will be a key and valued member of our IT and security teams.

The Systems Administrator will perform IT duties as defined within Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) directives, Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 503, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), and the DSS Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM). Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of IT and information security procedures and plans for the operation of networked and standalone classified computers.
  • Helping to conduct self-inspections and maintaining compliance with the RMF, NISPOM, DAAPM, corporate directives, pertinent DoD Information Assurance IA/Cyber instructions and other government contractual security requirements.
  • Supporting and maintaining in-house computer workstations, desktops, and peripherals.
  • Coordinating the install and upgrade to operating systems and layered software packages.
  • Helping to define and communicate the security posture and culture of the organization.
  • Interacting with the contracted Managed Services Provider (MSP), a.k.a. IT service provider, to track and manage helpdesk tickets and IT projects
  • Maintaining production systems
    • System audits, scans, and lock downs
    • Tool and user administration
      • ESXi/vSphere infrastructure
      • Storage infrastructure administration
      • Periodic data imports and exports to the customer
    • Maintaining the Azure development environment
      • Tool and OS administration and upgrades (using repeatable Ansible scripts) including test and verification on staging or test instances
      • Standing up new tools, servers, lab equipment
      • Domain administration
        • DHCP, DNS, LDAP, User accounts/permissions
      • ESXi/vSphere infrastructure
      • Storage infrastructure administration
    • Production systems development
      • Artifactory setup/configuration
      • NFS, DNS, LDAP and other domain/authentication tasks
      • Storage infrastructure
      • Security scans and lockdowns

Basic Requirements

  • US citizenship, due to the nature of the work and contract requirement 
  • Ability to obtain a TOP SECRET security clearance, due to the nature of work and contract requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Windows or Linux administration

Preferred Qualifications

  • TS//SCI clearance
  • Active CompTIA Security or other higher level Security Certification
  • Experience with virtualization, networking equipment, and firewalls
  • Experience preparing technical documentation in support of System Security Plans and POA&Ms
  • Certifications: MSCE, CompTIA Network , or Linux
  • Working Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Services
  • Experience with DHCP, VLAN’s, DNS, and SEIM tools
  • Experience with System Hardening and DISA STIGS
