Aztecs Telecom is Hiring a Fleet Specialist Near Corona, CA

Description

The Fleet Specialist is responsible for managing a preventative maintenance repair program, including the maintenance of large/heavy-duty vehicles, sedans, and other equipment to ensure a s safe and efficient fleet. This position will support the organization in equipment procurement and distribution, while maintaining accurate recordkeeping for all assets.

Must be an independent self-starter who is highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task and handle frequently changing priorities.

Requirements

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  • Direct activities related to the repair and maintenance of all fleets.
  • Maintain vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services.
  • Submit requisitions for vehicle parts and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot vehicle repair issues, review work orders, and provide cost estimates.
  • Track and coordinate warranty repairs and maintenance agreements for outside repair in conjunction with company guidelines.
  • Maintain records for fleet assets, vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  • Manage the fleet budget, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate and schedule routine vehicle maintenance, pick-up, and drop-offs.
  • Ensure compliance with preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance of the fleet.
  • Respond to all requests for service and assist in a timely manner.
  • Verify all inspections are being completed in accordance with company procedures.
  • Communicate work order status daily to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Research quotes and source parts from external vendors.
  • Determine if vehicle maintenance issues are under warranty or need outside vendor repairs.
  • Conduct monthly reviews with the management team to review equipment condition, utilization issues, and disposal opportunities.
  • Oversee employees’ vehicle assigned items and company inventories.
  • Administer insurance policy coverage, negotiate agreements, and participate in claim resolution.
  • Comply with transportation-related policies, as well as safety rules, and government regulations.
  • Promote safe work activities by conducting DOT safety audits and attending company safety meetings.
  • Assist with fulfilling operational and customer demand while meeting department goals.
  • Maintain clean, safe, free of hazards and orderly environment, and adhere to all Company and industry (i.e., OSHA) standards/regulations.
  • Conduct business in an ethical and trustworthy manner at all times.
  • Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Ability to be at work and on time.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Computer Skills: Proficient with MS Office, Word, Excel, Google Suite; and other related software.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • At least (2 ) years of industry experience in fleet maintenance required.
  • Automotive Fleet Manager and ASE certification is highly desirable!
  • At least (2 ) years of experience with vehicle repair, maintenance, collision repair, and systems/components design preferred.
  • Experience with software such as: eFleets, Azuga, and Whip Around is a plus!
  • Strong communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem -solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and client-facing skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of vehicle assembly, brake repair, vehicle maintenance, and equipment repair.
  • Advanced knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics, DOT regulations, and rules.
  • Familiarity with diesel engine repair, service technician work, forklift operation, automotive diagnostics, and lift operation.
  • Ability to implement and carry out improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to perform general vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to identify when major repairs are needed.
  • Must have experience in performing general vehicle maintenance such as: changing air filters, cabin filters, checking fluids, brakes, and tires.
