CAMPUS TECHNICIAN/Instructional Technology Lab Educational Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

Provides operational support and technical skills which will promote exemplary technology operations and services for the faculty and students of the assigned campus. Provides operation, maintenance, configuration, training, and troubleshooting duties for the user-facing school technology. Serves as an integral member of the Technology Committee. Provides technical support and assistance to school personnel and Students.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Current Fingerprint-Based Criminal History Background Check

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and Experience with Microsoft Office 2016 and 2019 Applications including Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of and Experience with Microsoft Client Operating Systems, including Windows 10
  • Knowledge of and Experience with Basic User Management using Microsoft Active Directory
  • Knowledge of and Experience with Anti-Malware Software
  • Knowledge of and Experience with Various Education-Related and Line-of-Business Applications including Discovery Education, Faronics Insight, Follett Destiny, iVisions, PowerSchool, PowerTeacher, PowerSchool Parent Portal
  • Knowledge of and Experience with Basic Web Site Maintenance Tasks
  • Ability to Learn and Master New Tasks Quickly
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Strategies and Professional Learning Communities
  • Knowledge of and Experience with Common Peripheral Devices such as Printers, Speakers, Microphones, Projectors, Monitors, Scanners, and Cameras
  • Knowledge of and Experience with Education-Focused Peripheral Devices such as Assisted Listening Systems, Document Cameras, Interactive Whiteboards, Interactive Tablets, Interactive Tables, Interactive Displays, and Immediate Response Systems
  • CompTIA® A Certification or Equivalent (Some exceptions may apply)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Employs the Qualifications and Skills listed above and below to provide efficient and effective inception, operation, maintenance, and use of technology to accomplish Board, District, School, Departmental, Team, and Individual goals
  • Provides operational support and technical skills which will promote exemplary technology operations and services for the school
  • Provides operation, maintenance, configuration, training, and troubleshooting duties for the user-facing school technology
  • Serves as an integral member of the Technology Committee
  • Provides technical support and assistance to school personnel and Students
  • Manages and maintains the computer lab(s) at the school
  • Perform scheduled and routine maintenance of computer equipment
  • Conducts training for all school personnel, students, and parents/guardians when needed
  • Assists in the documentation and management of all help desk cases using the automated help desk system
  • Compiles, updates, and maintains technical documentation
  • Assists other Technology personnel with duties as needed
  • Begins/Continues education and professional development using various resources including college, correspondence courses, E-Collaboration, E-Learning, seminars, trade shows, peer-tutoring, and on-the-job-training
  • Follows all Board of Education, District, and Technology Department policies, procedures, and administrative guidelines
  • Follows all employee handbook and bulletin information
  • Other duties as assigned

Terms of Employment:

  • 203 Day Contract
  • Salary and work year per the Aztec School District Approved Salary Schedule

Evaluation 

Performance of duty will be evaluated at least annually in accordance with Aztec School Board Policy.

Physical Rating Level

This position will require the employee to function at a “Medium” physical capacity as defined by Worker’s Compensation Statutes. “Medium” physical capacity indicates the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally or up to 25 pounds frequently.
