Azimuth Corporation is seeking a talented Materials Scientist to join our Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) team on WPAFB, Ohio. The ideal candidate would be joining a multi-disciplined team and be ready to lead the synthesis, processing, and characterization of solutions, films, and devices.
Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Synthesis of III-VI semiconductors in addition to the exploration and synthesis of chalcogen and halide based semiconducting materials
• Utilize, strengthen, and expand single crystal growth capabilities which presently include Bridgman, vapor transport, horizontal gradient freeze, and vertical gradient techniques
• Have knowledge of the use and repair of this instrumentation in addition to knowledge of the safe handling of the chemical materials required for synthesis
• Be well-versed in stand characterization techniques and be open to be trained in characterization apparatus to the AFRL facilities

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD in Materials Science
• Ability to work onsite at government research facility
• Ability to obtain/maintain security clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)

Desired Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in the field

Physical Requirements / Travel

• Must be able to work in an office environment at a desk and computer.
• May travel ~10% to conferences, program reviews, industry meetings, or other collaborative events. Most or all travel would be CONUS.
