AZGROUPPROD is Hiring a Counsel / Regulatory Specialist Near Richmond, VA

The role of Counsel/Regulatory Specialist working within our Legal team in Richmond Virginia, as part of a larger global insurance organization will advise, assist, and lead the organization on legal obligations for a wide range of insurance regulatory and other support issues. What you do: Work on insurance regulatory matters, advising, assisting and planning with the Legal team and leadership as needed Actively participate and advise on regulatory compliance related projects Advise operations (claims and producer licensing), product development, marketing, finance, compliance, and risk areas on substance as well as process, procedures and attendant risks related to insurance regulatory requirements Assist or lead, as directed, in responding to state or federal regulatory complaints and inquiries Assist and undertake government relations activities, including monitoring legislation, attending regulatory conferences, and working with industry and regulatory representatives to develop and implement market friendly regulatory strategies Assist with managing regulatory communications; work with outside counsel, as needed, to affect a satisfactory resolution of regulatory conflicts. Draft and review contracts, as needed Research relevant statutes, legal trends, and case law via on-line legal information sites Advise on litigation related issues, as needed Coordinate and help lead on global and regional issues Understand, review, and help implement and prepare for audit global policies, standards, and functional rules (as applicable to Legal) adopted by our line of business parent and our ultimate parent company May perform other duties as assigned What you bring: License to practice law as in-house counsel in Virginia (or ability to promptly obtain) or has relevant regulatory experience Graduate from an accredited law school or college Three (3) to six (6) years in insurance regulatory matters Ability to travel routinely up to 10% Allianz Group is one of the most trusted insurance and asset management companies in the world.
