The Impact You Will HaveThe Claims Team Leader – Subrogation / Salvage will primarily:Lead and manage a Subro/Salvage Team that handles all Subrogation and Salvage activities.Ensure subrogation claims are handled within authority limits and in line with AGCS Claims Standard procedures and guidelines. Ensure Salvage of property maximizes the net return to AGCS.Monitor financial results of both the salvage and subrogation employees to ensure positive return for AGCS.Utilize third party service providers to achieve economical results and to provide a high-quality service to all internal and external customers. Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients. Some of your specific responsibilities could include:Manage team of Subrogation and Salvage adjustersLead and manage a subrogation and salvage team focusing on results.Manage cost center budget within plan.Training, facilitate mentoring of less experienced staff.Managing technical referrals and delegating work as appropriate.Investigation and Reserving of Claims Overseeing the investigation of high exposure domestic and international subrogation and salvage claims.Determine department policies, procedures, and authority levels determine adjusters are selecting and monitor direct independent external service providers. For ex; Subrogation counsel, experts and Salvors.Review Settlements by Claims employees. Review and support appropriate settlements on high exposure, complex Subrogation and Salvage claims, ensuring cost effective service oriented solutions.Review salvage bids for high exposure, complex claims. Ensure staff is taking into account cost/ benefit and maximizing the gross and net. Referrals and Compliance OversightEnsure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims Standard procedures and guidelines.Support establishment of claims management procedures specific to salvage guidelines on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters.Undertake audits of external service providers as appropriate.Market Management & Relationship ManagementProactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary.Proactively liaise with MMC on market management initiatives; positively represent AGCS externally to the market; proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, MMC, ARC, Operations; and develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters). What You’ll Bring to the RoleManaging people: Ability to lead and manage a team of claim handlers. Includes the ability to delegate tasks, steer team direction/goals, etc.Knowledge of subrogation and salvage process. Understanding of applicable concepts and terminology that exist across LoB's.Claim Handling: Solid knowledge of claim handling process from notification to settlement and recovery.Minimum of 3-5 years of specialized understanding of LoB products and portfolio with technical specialist knowledge.Minimum of 3-5 years of specialized understanding of regional/local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscapeMinimum of 3-5 years of recognized relationship building with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market.Minimum of 3-5 years of good understanding of legal and regulatory frameworkProducts and Coverages: understanding in relevant products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages.Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in working in global complex, matrix organization leading a team of professionals.General understanding of contracts and their applicability.Communication skills: Clearly and effectively express ideas and messages via speech or writing. Negotiation and conflict management: Ability to negotiate best position for Allianz Commercial, and client, often in contentious situations, managing conflicting priorities of various parties.Analytical Skills: Ability to effectively absorb information from various sources, then analyze, study or examine data in detail, and draw appropriate conclusions. The annualized base pay range for this role is $92,591 - $158,727. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package.
