AZEK Company is Hiring a PVC Process Engineer Intern Near Wilmington, OH

Position Title:  PVC Engineer Intern

Are you a Plastics, Mechanical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering student with a desire to learn and grow in your field of study? Do you have a passion for the environment and want to be a part of a company focused on creating a sustainable future? The AZEK Company’s intern/co-op program will provide you with hands-on engineering experience as well as exposure to the fascinating world of sustainable outdoor building products.

This is a paid internship where you will report directly to the Process Engineering Manager. Throughout your time with The AZEK Company, you can expect to participate in meaningful project work and professional learning opportunities that will help you grow as a future professional.

During your time with AZEK, you will also get exposure to, and an opportunity to network with, other interns, AZEK employees, and company executives. 

Location: Wilmington, OH

Time Commitment & Expectations:

  • AZEK’s summer Intern program runs from May 20th, 2024 – August 9th, 2024. Participants must be available for at least 11 out of the 12 weeks.
  • Program runs for 40 hours/week, with the exception of the week of Memorial Day & Independence Day (unpaid holidays)
  • Participants must be available for an in person event in Chicago, IL the week of July 22th

Travel Requirement(s): 10%

Position Summary: Assist the plant engineering teams in development of process reliability and sustainability through knowledge in mechanical/chemical/plastics engineering. This position will be responsible for projects in the PVC decking facility in Wilmington, OH. Projects will be focused on extrusion or blending operations. 

What you can expect:

  • A fast moving engineering team with a diverse collection of knowledge and experience.
  • Sense of ownership for your projects and ability to make it yours.
  • A mix of 50% desk work and 50% floor work.

What you’ll learn:

  • By being on the teams, will learn about the sustainability of PVC and how the AZEK Company utilizes recycle streams to make products that last.
  • Foamed profile extrusion and related processes.
  • Extrusion tooling

Ideal Student:

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student studying Plastics, Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering at an accredited college or university.
  • High academic standing (Preferred GPA – 3.0 )
  • Successful completion of a minimum of 60 credit hours
  • Able to participate in at least 90% of the program May – August
  • Willing to relocate to a geographic location with an AZEK facility, if needed, upon graduation.

Students must be eligible to work in the U.S. without immigration sponsorship.
