AZEK Company is Hiring a Process Engineer Near Wilmington, OH

Position Summary: As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting manufacturing processes. Your focus as a member of the AZEK Process Engineering team will include improvement and optimization of the extrusion and downstream processes. You will utilize the relationship between material, equipment, and process to drive continuous improvement in line with AZEK Core Values. The process engineer will also be involved in new product and process introductions.

Primary duties and Responsibilities will be:

  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Participate in research and development projects to scale up new products or processes from the lab to the manufacturing environment.
  • Conduct process simulations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Design and implement process changes, equipment upgrades, and automation solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Evaluate the performance of existing process tooling and work to improve dimensional tolerances, output, yield, and downtime.
  • Work with tooling and equipment vendors to troubleshoot process and tooling problems.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for equipment selection, installation, calibration, tooling, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure alignment of manufacturing processes with business objectives.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address process deviations, non-conformances, and quality issues.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Train and mentor production staff on new processes, technologies, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for sustainability improvements, waste reduction, and energy efficiency enhancements.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in manufacturing process engineering.

We believe the successful candidate will have:

  • Four-year engineering degree with 5 years of relevant experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Experience with extrusion processes.
  • Experience with material handling and mixing-related process equipment is desired.
  • Proficiency in process optimization, data analysis and statistical tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Travel: up to 20% to support other sites.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The annual salary for this position ranges from $79,000 in our lowest market up to $107,600 in our highest market, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. The pay for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific work location, role, skill set, and level of experience
