Legal Intern

As a leader in our industry, we now have over 22 GW of utility-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable energy projects in development and 33 projects in operation or construction across North America.

  • Paid, full-time summer internship.
  • The internship period is June 3, 2024 - August 16, 2024.
  • Must be based in Austin, TX.
  • Will be required to work in person from the office located in the Domain.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in researching and analyzing legal issues related to energy agreements, including capacity agreements, tolling agreements, and energy services/shared savings agreements
  • Support the drafting and review of M&A Agreements, such as purchase and sale agreements, asset purchase agreements, and joint venture agreements 
  • Help prepare and review standard corporate contracts, including development services agreements, consulting agreements, and non-disclosure agreements 
  • Contribute to the management of real estate agreements, including leases, purchase options, and easements 
  • Participate in regulatory compliance efforts related to the power and utility sector 
  • Collaborate with the legal team on project finance and tax equity structures 
  • Engage in special projects and perform additional duties as required, offering exposure to a broad range of legal tasks 
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate from an accredited law school
  • Strong academic record with an interest in energy law, corporate law, or related fields
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Demonstrated interest in renewable energy, sustainability, or related sectors is a plus
  • Basic understanding of the renewable energy industry
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple work streams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Ability to work independently on multiple, concurrent projects with revolving, occasionally shifting deadlines and quick turnaround requests
