AY Manufacturing, Ltd. is Hiring a Maintenance Automated Technician - 2nd Shift Near Columbus, OH

General Purpose of the Job:

To perform preventative, predictive, reactive maintenance as well as various design and project work to keep the facility in top operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.

2. Perform industrial electrical troubleshooting/repair/install.

3. Perform equipment (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic) troubleshooting/repair.

4. Perform PLC programming/troubleshooting.

5. Perform robot programming/troubleshooting.

6. Fabrication, repair of tooling/fixtures.

7. Perform preventative maintenance procedures and adjust procedures as needed.

8. Perform equipment design, procurement of parts, and installation of new equipment.

9. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

10. Input and retrieve information from the CMMS system.

11. Must be able to make quick decisions while under pressure.

12. Be able to work and complete projects on your own.

13. Understanding of LOTO, Alternate Entry, fall protection, Flammable Liquid and Electrical procedures.

14. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

15. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

16. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

17. The third shift automated tech position will be responsible for the duties of the emergency coordinator (see emergency preparedness response program).

Note: not all are required, but some of the above must be feasible by associate.

Education and/or Experience:

Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of 2 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Have the ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

High Skills- Have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

High Skills: ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral, diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Office & Maintenance CMMS systems).

Other Skills and Abilities:

1. Forklift operator license.

2. Lockout/tag out.

3. First Aid.

4. CPR Respirator Testing.

5. Welding/cutting equipment.

6. Power and hand tools.

7. Test and calibration equipment.

8. Good communication skills.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Required:

1. Protective eye wear while in plant.

2. Steel toed shoes while in plant areas.

3. Bump Cap.

4. Flame retardant clothing.

5. Respirator.

6. Chemical clothing and gloves.

7. Electrical PPE (Arc Flash).

8. Designated PPE required for specific tasks and areas. Ref: PPE Symbols and Guidance 640EHS3649.

Other:

1. Must be able to travel (domestic).

2. Must hold and maintain current driver’s license or identification card.

3. Available to work overtime as needed on short notice.

Decision Making Authority:

1. Decide if and when programming for robots is needed.

2. Decide when to perform reactive repairs (shut equipment down or wait until scheduled downtime).

3. Make decisions on design, install, and operations of equipment regarding safety and operation.

4. Decide when to call supervisor or upper management (INC. on above item).
