Power BI Developer position involves designing, managing, and deploying data systems, reports, and dynamic dashboards, as well as training users. This position is responsible for extracting data from multiple sources, manipulating and validating data, and conducting root cause analysis and present findings. This position is part of a global team managing the Power BI service.

Responsibilities

• Implement new solutions/features to enable new capabilities
• Create Power BI workspaces, install & test connectors and configure data gateway
• Develop reports to show the Power BI service adoption, usage and monitoring.
• Address questions from business, “how do I do this in Power BI”
• Debug to identify the issue and find solution
• Prepare knowledgebase article documenting solutions
• Train users on how to use Power BI
• Promote the best practices and correct usage of standards
• Work with project teams to ensure that solution is performant and scalable
• Remains up to date on company’s standards, industry practices and emerging standards

Technical Skills

• Power BI Development
• Tableau or another BI platform experience (optional)
• Agile Delivery
• Understanding of current principles, practices, and techniques of Systems Analysis, Business Analysis, Data warehouse/Data Lake and Business Intelligence
• Knowledge of current computing technologies, SQL query language, SharePoint and other database technologies
• Working knowledge of Power shell or other scripting languages
• Good knowledge of cloud computing

Experience

• At least 5 years in IT
• At least 3 years working with Microsoft Power BI and Tableau (optional)
• Preferred Education and Certifications
• Relevant Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Microsoft Power BI Certification
• Create and maintain technical documentation
