We are looking for a dynamic System Administrator/VTC Engineer to join our team to provide operational support our client's Smart Classrooms and supporting telecommunications, audio/video conferencing, and virtualization technologies to include; network servers, switches, Storage Area Networks, Video conferencing systems, codecs, zero client appliances, video wall display systems, Personal Computers and peripherals, audio devices, camera systems, Apple hardware, Windows and Apple Operating Systems and software suites, Adobe suites, VMware suites, Teradici software, Tandberg and Cisco suites, Cinemassive suites, and various VA internal developed software suites.

Daily duties include:

Provide onsite operational and technical support of the ITWD Smart Classroom location at Washington DC
• Provide support of all Smart Classroom distance learning training technologies, including video telecommunications, virtualization, and audio/video solutions
• Provide local operational and technical support of Smart Classrooms
• Analyze, determine, and document technical requirements
• Communicate accurate and useful status reports to management on a timely basis
• Anticipate issues and proactively resolve them
• Prepare contingencies, scenarios, scenario plans and action items to resolve issues
• Identify and initiate continuous improvements
• Instill commitment to quality, customer service, ownership, and teamwork
• Build strong customer relationships. Promote internal/external customer service among organization
• Maintain awareness of new technological developments in industry and processes- presents new concepts appropriately and champion successful implementation
• Where appropriate, provide on-going training and technical direction to other team members pertaining to virtualization optimization, installation, upgrades, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Interact with vendors in the resolution of complex problems
• Effectively communicate with customers, help desk support personnel and senior technicians
• Present new technology and high-level resolutions to management
• Facilitate training sessions for peers on new technology solutions, optimization, upgrades, trouble-shooting techniques, new technology and administration tools
• Forecast and recommend infrastructure and system application improvements
• Work with ticket queue to track support issues
• Available to provide after-hours support
• Willing and available for on-call support if needed
• Other duties as assigned

• 2 to 5 years providing similar support as described in the job responsibilities
• Experience working on client sites and providing support during live sessions
• Experience working with third party vendors to provide quick resolutions
• Experience supporting smart classrooms

• VA experience is a plus
• Active VA clearance is a plus
