- Perform malaria patient clinical interviews, patient physical examinations, and examinations on patients post malaria vaccination and/or treatments for malaria infection (including video conferencing)
- Perform clinical procedures, such as vaccinations, post vaccination evaluations, treatment recommendations, and consultation with doctors and nursing staff
- Provide clinical documentation using malaria databases, NIH electronic medical records, and regulatory documentation of events post-vaccination
- Communicate with patients and their outside healthcare-providers, NIH and extramural patients’ consultants, and consultants overseeing activites in foreign laboratory spaces used to prepare malaria vaccinations for human studies
- Provide preparation of regulatory paperwork and submission, in collaboration with other team members or members from collaborating laboratories.
- MD degree with a minimum of two years of experience working in medicine.
- Must have a current Medical Degree and be licensed to practice medicine
- Must have significant experience with malaria vaccine clinical trial design and implementation in foreign countries, outside of the United States
- Previous experience working with human patient enrolled in clinical trials Background in medicine, malaria vaccines, and malaria clinical trial conduct
- Relevant experience and knowledge with regulatory authorities
- Basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- More advance experience e.g. familiarity with PowerPoint and other graphics programs. • Expert in Plasmodium vivax (Pv) human clinical trials conducted in countries where Pv is prevalent
- Must have excellent communication skills including writing, speaking and presentation of data and information to various audiences (such as patients, health providers)
- Must have experience with WHO and FDA regulatory authorities as it pertains to the conduction of human clinical trials
- Must obtain permission to use Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), such as laptop from NIAID OCICB SIRT and any necessary training/certifications.
