Axle Informatics is Hiring a Senior Scientist Near Rockville, MD

Overview

Axle Informatics is a bioinformatics and information technology company that offers innovative computer services, informatics, and enterprise solutions to research centers and healthcare organizations around the globe. With experts in software engineering, bioinformatics and program management, we focus on developing and applying technology tools and techniques to empower decision-making and accelerate the discovery in translational research. We work with some of the top research organizations and facilities in the country including multiple institutes at the National Institutes of health (NIH).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a large-scale library of compounds that span a diverse range of utility
  • Design and implement a system to orgranize and track the compound library
  • Develop reports on all elements identified in the compound library as well as additional findings or recommendations
  • Develop a list of compounds to be acquired and sourcing information
  • Update and maintain the compound library on a routine basis
  • Report to program leads on the progress of the library development, compound acquisition, and any additional findings or recommendations

Qualifications

  • Ph.D in relevant field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, etc.) and 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working with chemical compiund management
  • Knowledge of compound acquisition, structural components of compounds, and database management techniques
  • Knowledge of compounds that may target proteins such as TMPRSS2, SARS ACE2-RBD interaction, viral NSPs, RNA helicases, etc.
  • Knowledge of viruses and viral families
  • Knowledge of the mechanisms that affect viruses and/or host-virus interactions
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Sound judgment, positive attitude, and creative outlook required.
  • NIH experience preferred
