Actuarial Analyst Actuarial Graduate Programme Job Family: Actuarial Job start date: March, 2024 How does this role contribute to our collective success? The Actuarial Graduate Programme is a three-year rotational programme committed to helping you grow throughout your career within the insurance industry. As a Graduate Actuarial Analyst, you will play a crucial role getting involved in front line actuarial work and developing an understanding of key actuarial techniques. While rotating through three actuarial departments, this programme will help you develop a core knowledge of actuarial concepts, fundamental analytical skills, and project management experience. You will take on key roles in various projects and communicate with senior Actuaries. You will also engage proactively with other professionals and actuarial management to achieve desired business outcomes. Pricing Rotation [Insurance/Reinsurance]: • Data preparation, collection, and manipulation in spreadsheets • Assisting in insurance pricing and analysis • Work closely with underwriters to develop rating models and methods, communicating, and explaining the output from pricing tools. • Conducting detailed reviews within classes of business to objectively assess profitability. Reserving Rotation: • Work with the reserving team on the quarterly reserving process • Analyse and investigate historical claims data. You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role. About You: • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Thoroughness and attention to detail • Ability to document work appropriately. • Ability to work well in a team. • Self-starter and a quick learner with strong numeracy skills • Willing to question and investigate. • Strong data analytical skills • Interest in the insurance industry What you need to have: • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Business, or any related field with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (US) What we prefer you to have: • Experience within the insurance industry either academically or through prior internships • Familiarity with SQL, VBA, R, Microsoft Office is preferrable. Role Factors: • You will be required to attend the office 3 days per week, or when required as per your manager. What we offer: During these 3 years you will be eligible for the Actuarial Study Program which includes paid study leave for up to 120 hours per sitting, financial support for the cost of course materials and exam fees, and salary increases for passed exams. Additionally, you will be provided a comprehensive and competitive benefits package which includes medical plans for you and your family, health and wellness programs, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, paid annual leave, and much more. For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $67,000 to $77,000 (NY). Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location. This role is Exempt for FLSA purposes. Rewarding. Challenging.
