DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works on a collaborative team to design interior components for Axiom’s Space Station
  • Provides guidance on design for manufacturability and maintainability
  • Participates in design reviews, as required, and provide mentorship to other Design Engineers
  • Provides input to Project Engineering to forecast scope, schedule, and risks for all assigned projects
  • Supports Human Factors / User Experience evaluations
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or related field
  • 10 years’ experience in mechanical design or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in 3D CAD environment (Solidworks preferred)
  • Familiarity with flight hardware development and certification preferred

Essential Functions

Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements 

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

Physical Requirements

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
