Overview

Role Summary: The Cartographer will apply geospatial knowledge to acquire, analyze, compile, and disseminate location-based information and intelligence to populate, update geospatial databases and create GEOINT products. Responsibilities includes referencing source materials, update and/or create geospatial database entries, maps, and charts; submit work through the QA/QC process and meet deadlines. Will provide services to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's (NGA) Source Directorate.

Role: Cartography Analyst - Multiple Positions

Work Environment:

• Location is flexible: NGA offices in St Louis or Arnold, MO
• Travel up to 15% of the time

Responsibilities

• Utilize geographic names information from the Geographic Names Database (GNDB Follow standard operating procedures and applies basic tradecraft skills
• Complete cartographic finishing, feature extraction from maps, charts or various imagery sources, attribution population, and related experience
• Work with minimal oversight and often lead smaller teams in their service execution
• Assist subordinates in developing tradecraft skill in order to meet work objectives
• Collaborate with Government and other stakeholders to provide accurate technical information that contributes to synergized analysis that is better than the sum of the individual parts

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in geography, cartography, imagery analysis or military equivalent; Additional experience can be substituted for education
• 3 - 12 years of experience in geography, cartography, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), which includes skill in ArcGIS applications
• Experience creating shapefiles, geodatabases, and features
• Experience working with ESRI Production Line Tool Set (PLTS), Production Mapping, and Defense Mapping extensions or similar toolsets
• Ability to geo-rectify maps, charts and various source

Security Clearance Requirements: 

• Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain and maintain a Counter-Intelligence (CI) Polygraph.

• Keen attention to detail 
• Understands and applies more advanced concepts and processes to tasks
• Proficiency using MS Office Suite
