We have an opening for aCharge Entry Representative to work 30 hours/week at our OB/GYN practice in Mullica Hill, NJ.

Essential Functions:

  • Reviews encounters created by providers to ensure the accuracy and completeness of billing codes and documents prior to submitting claims for reimbursement by insurance payors.
  • Gathers information from outside entities related to services rendered by Axia providers in hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, and other ancillary locations.
  • Scans documents and enters charges for out-of-office and in-office ancillary care, including but not limited to obstetrical deliveries, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Submits clean claims to Axia RCM for submission to insurance payors.
  • Reworks or augments claims as required by clearinghouse or insurance payor rejections and denials via outside vendor.
  • Reports performance using established reporting.
  • Reconciles claims submitted against appointments booked to ensure that all services rendered by Axia providers are documented and submitted for reimbursement.
  • Researches, documents, and communicates insurance payor rules and requirements related to claims and reimbursement to Axia providers and staff.
  • Researches and understands insurance payor denials and rejections and works with Axia providers, and staff to implement/revise policies and procedures to resolve the root cause of denials and rejections.
  • Trains new Billing employees and current coworkers on Axia billing policies and procedures.
  • Provides excellent customer service by promptly responding to emails, answering telephones, and following up on any outstanding concerns in a timely manner.
  • Embraces a team-work environment and helps with various projects from colleagues and supervisor.

Qualities and Skills:

  • Specialized knowledge of Medical Billing, Medical Coding, HIPAA, Insurance Payors, and Federal & State rules and regulations.
  • Mastery of eClinicalWorks (eCW) or similar practice management system.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Reliable and productive approach to daily work and team.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role in a medical practice or hospital environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, some college education preferred.
  • Certification in Medical Billing preferred.
  • OB/GYN billing/coding experience preferred.
