Job Details

About the Opportunity:
Job Title: CNC Programmer
Pay: $25/Hour
Location: Forest Lake, MN
Schedule: 1st Shift, Mon-Fri 7:15AM-3:15PM with optional O/T.
Daily functions:
  1. Program, setup and run CNC machines.
  2. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining requirements.
  3. Perform in-process inspections to verify dimensional accuracy and quality of machined parts.
  4. Provide sales team with cycle time and fixture cost estimates for new product.
  5. Write set-up instructions and maintain program archives.
  6. Select appropriate tools, materials, and cutting parameters for each job.
  7. Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and identify any issues or deviations from specifications.
  8. Perform routing machine maintenance and coordinate machine repairs with outside vendors.
  9. Collaborate with engineers and tool designers to optimize machining processes and trouble shoot issues that arise.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
Desired qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  2. 2 years of experience as CNC Programmer required; preferable in a plastic injection molding environment; preferred MasterCam experience.
  3. Ability to multitask, run several projects at the same time, communicate efficiently with other departments, computer skills, strong problem-solving skills.
  4. Knowledge of machining techniques; reading and interpreting blueprints and CAD models; MasterCam and SolidWorks experience preferred.
  5. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner; ability to make decisions with limited information.
  6. Ability to program and operate CNC machines to produce plastic injection molds and components according to specifications and quality standards.
Physical requirements:
  1. Lifting 40lbs
  2. Standing for long durations of time.
  3. Use hands and fingers to operate hand tools.
