Awakened Heart PDX is Hiring a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Near Portland, OR

About Us:
We are a leading mental health group practice dedicated to providing holistic and person-centered care to individuals in the Portland community. Our team consists of experienced mental health professionals committed to delivering evidence-based interventions and fostering a supportive environment for both our clients and staff. We emphasize a mind-body and relational approach to mental health.

The position is part-time with the expectation of growing to at least 15 client hours per week. To be eligible for health insurance benefits, our clinicians must see 22 client hours per week consistently.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our dynamic team. The PMHNP will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality psychiatric care to individuals across the lifespan, including assessment, diagnosis, and medication management. This position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to formulate accurate diagnoses.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and other team members.
  • Provide medication management and prescribe appropriate psychotropic medications as needed.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment interventions, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Offer education and support to clients and their families regarding mental health issues, treatment options, and medication management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in psychiatric/mental health nursing.
  • Current unrestricted license in Oregon to practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the state of Oregon.
  • Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience providing psychiatric care to individuals across the lifespan.
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based treatment modalities for psychiatric disorders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to providing culturally competent and trauma-informed care.
