Responsibilities:

- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients

- Perform medication inventory management and restocking

- Maintain accurate patient records and prescription information

- Provide excellent patient service and answer any medication-related questions

- Adhere to all pharmacy regulations and guidelines

- Review and process prior authorization requests for medications

- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for requested services

- Communicate with insurance companies to obtain necessary authorizations

- Collaborate with providers to gather required documentation for authorization submissions

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prior authorization requests and approvals

- Follow up on pending authorizations and ensure timely resolution

- Stay updated on insurance guidelines and policies related to prior authorizations

Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting is preferred
- Proficient in using pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and inventory management
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals
