Role Overview 

At Avodah Inc., the Part-Time Benefits/Payroll Administrator is critical to our People operations team. This role is a vital link between our employees and their compensation, benefits, and the overall well-being that Avodah Inc. strives to ensure for every team member. As a part-time administrator, you will manage and execute payroll processes, administer employee benefits, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. This position requires high accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

As a potential Part-Time Benefits/Payroll Administrator, you should be detail-oriented, with a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of payroll and benefits information. Excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and effective communication with both employees and external partners are essential. Your proactive, reliable nature and dedication to supporting the well-being of every employee through meticulous management of their benefits and compensation are highly valued.

Your Influence

  • Payroll Management: Accurately process bi-monthly payroll, ensuring all employees are paid on time and in accordance with their employment agreements.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and any other employee assistance programs, ensuring employees are fully informed of their benefits.
  • Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations affecting payroll and benefits, ensuring Avodah Inc. remains compliant and mitigates potential risks.
  • Employee Queries: Serve as the first point of contact for employees’ queries regarding payroll and benefits, resolving issues efficiently and maintaining high levels of employee satisfaction.
  • Reporting and Record Keeping: Prepare accurate reports and maintain detailed records for payroll, benefits, and compliance purposes.

Qualifications

· Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

· 2 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.

· Strong understanding of payroll software and MS Office, especially Excel.

· Familiarity with labor laws and payroll tax regulations.

· Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

· High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred. This ensures the candidate has foundational knowledge relevant to the complexities of payroll and benefits administration.

Experience:

  • Payroll and Benefits Administration: At least 2 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration is required. This experience should include hands-on management of payroll processes and employee benefits, ensuring the candidate is capable of handling the responsibilities of the role.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong understanding of payroll software systems is essential. Additionally, proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, is required to manage data entry, reporting, and analysis effectively.

Skills:

  • Familiarity with Labor Laws: The candidate must be familiar with labor laws and payroll tax regulations, enabling them to ensure compliance and mitigate risks for the company.
  • Organizational and Time-Management Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills are crucial for managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a part-time capacity.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is necessary to maintain the integrity of payroll and benefits data.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to handle sensitive information confidentially and interact effectively with employees and external partners.
  • Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team is important, as the role may require managing tasks autonomously while also collaborating with the finance and HR teams.

Responsibilities:

Additional Requirements:

  • Work Hours: The role requires a commitment to work 25 hours per week.
  • Office Presence: The candidate is expected to work 3 days a week in the office, emphasizing the importance of on-site collaboration and accessibility to address employee queries and manage in-person interactions efficiently.
