About you:

You’re a creative problem solver looking to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You take pride in your own work but are comfortable collaborating with a team of highly motivated individuals. Nimble as they come, you can manage through ambiguity and make solid recommendations with the information at hand.

You have 4 years of marketing and/or communications experience with at least 1 year with internal communications responsibilities and are ready for the next step. Strengths include writing, editing, and providing communications coaching and recommendations. You can communicate clearly and concisely with teammates and stakeholders, and you enjoy strong company culture and camaraderie.

You’re adept with the Microsoft suite, can work your way around an intranet (experience with digital platforms like Firstup/SocialChorus a big plus) and are comfortable with video as a medium.

Overview

Part of the Global Marketing and Communications team, the Global Internal Communications Specialist will support employee communications and engagement around Avison Young’s purpose and strategy. We offer customized work options for our employees and are ideally looking for an individual based in Chicago.

Responsibilities

• Implement global-focused employee communications and engagement strategies
• Manage the digital tools (particularly Orion, our in-house communications platform) and develop content designed to drive clear, consistent messaging across the business
• Support the setup, training, and maintenance of the Orion platform and help drive user adoption and engagement
• Execute internal communications plans in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders to execute strategic initiatives throughout the organization
• Monitor milestone completion and identify process and operational roadblocks of communication plan execution
• Create and manage a variety of digital content (emails, internal social posts, newsletters, landing pages, etc.) that embodies the AY voice and fosters engagement
• Assist with the content development (PowerPoint, talking points, videos, etc.) and delivery for large-scale meetings (Town Halls, Sales Meetings)
• Provide day-to-day operational and administrative support for the Global Internal Communications team
• Measure, report, and adjust communications activities based on outcomes
• Take initiative and use problem solving skills to think beyond the task to the outcome that needs to be achieved
• Pay strong attention to detail
• And, of course, other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 4 years of marketing and/or communications experience
• 1 years of internal communications responsibilities
• A college degree in marketing/communications or other related field
