Description

Position Summary:

The Scheduler will greet patients and visitors over the phone and in-person, optimize provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling, and serve as the primary point of contact for all patients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all patients, greeting others in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner

• Manage incoming and outgoing phone calls in a friendly manner to set the tone for the patient's encounter and expectations for the office

• Schedule patient appointments appropriately to ensure smooth flow and cadence of the day and to decrease patient wait times

• Respond to patient and physician requests

• Ensure all requests are handled in a timely manner

• Follow proper opening/closing procedures as designated by the practice

• Collect, enter, and maintain all patient demographic and insurance/payer information in an accurate and detailed manner

• Respond accurately and promptly to all requests to verify, correct, or update such information as required by the practice, Avina Women's Care, and insurance/payers as appropriate

• Strive to meet all practice and Avina Women's Care standards and policies for the collection of such payments and balances

• Maintain professional and positive attitude and appearance at all times

• Display active commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Avina Women's Care

• All other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Personality and demeanor to deal with the public and work closely with a wide variety of employees and patients

• Basic office skills such as typing, filing, and phone etiquette

• Verbal and non-verbal communication skills to communicate with staff, patients, physicians, and visitors

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must have good vision and hearing perception to view computer screens and discern telephone rings and conversations.

• Able to move quickly to respond to patient and physician requests

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Customer service: 1 year preferred

• Medical reception/front desk/medical terminology experience preferred, not required
