Maintenance Technician

Position: Maintenance Technician

Location: Owatonna, MN

Type: Full-time Direct Hire

Hours: Sunday- Tuesday (Nights or Days)

Pay: Starting at $25/hr. and up based on experience

Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll be the backbone of our client's operations, ensuring that equipment and facilities are in top-notch condition. From performing preventative maintenance to troubleshooting and repairs, your mechanical and electrical expertise will be put to the test every day.

Responsibilities:

• Inventory and control stock of supplies using a computerized maintenance program.
• Specify equipment for upgrades and repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, dismantling, and cleaning of parts, overhead hoists, and conveyor belts.
• Demonstrate general fabrication skills including welding, torch operations, and following simple blueprints.
• Read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams for diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems.
• Disassemble and diagnose mechanical and electrical failures, performing necessary repairs.
• Design layout and installation of plumbing projects.
• Install machines and troubleshoot without direct supervision.
• Adhere to safety protocols and use approved safety equipment.
• Follow Business Process Documentation and actively contribute to Continuous Improvement efforts.

Skills and Abilities:

• Lathe and mill experience is helpful.
• Maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions in English.
• Knowledge of power tools.
• Ability to take supervision and work effectively in a team.
• Welding experience with ARC, MIG & TIG.
• Ability to ready blueprints and diagrams.
• Disassemble and diagnose equipment.

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or equivalent GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree or vocational training (preferred)
• 4 years of related experience (preferred)
