Position Overview:

The Audiovisual (AV) Technician - Level 4 possesses extensive experience in the construction and AV/IT trades. This role involves overseeing the crew at the job site, ensuring tasks are completed as expected and in line with the project plan. The Audiovisual (AV) Technician - Level 4 is responsible for managing job site logistics, safety, and work quality, and performs their duties with minimal to no direct supervision. The successful candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in AV/IT installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Requirements 

  • High School Diploma or GED. 
  • 6 years’ experience leading AV/IT system installations. 
  • Must maintain a valid state installation license 
    • and/or certificate as required by state law
  • Able to attain and maintain an AVIXA CTS-I certification 
    • or graduate of a State Certified Apprenticeship program within one year of hire
  • Must have a powder actuated tool certification
  • Advanced proficiency using AV/IT trade tools, showcasing a strong understanding of their usage and operation
  • Extensive experience with construction equipment, including scaffolding, lifts, hoists, pulleys, etc.
  • Intermediate computer skills including proficiency in Windows and MS Office
  • Proven experience in setting up audio and video systems, with a focus on quality and attention to detail 
  • Track record of successful AV equipment installation, encompassing speaker systems, flat panel displays, projectors, and projection screens. 
  • Ability to lead and coordinate field installation crews effectively, while also working well in a team or independent setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assign work priorities and assure crews have the support, training, and tools needed for work
  • Provide on the job training for mechanical installation
  • Adhering to company performance training apprentices on company procedures, systems, and installation techniques
  • Meet company performance and work standards and practice quality installation techniques
  • Ensure that all job tasks are completed within the estimated labor hours
  • Act as the point-of-contact between the crew and the project team
  • Ensure that all assigned installers maintain proper equipment safety and follow established safety practices
  • Ensure all changes to scope, schedule, and costs for projects are communicated to the proper channels
  • Maintain and mark-up record set drawings to reflect changes made during the implementation of the job
  • Responsible for gathering all equipment manuals from boxes, unused installation equipment and materials, and passing them on to the Project Manager at the close of each job
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure that physical completeness is in accordance with the project plan, drawings, and specifications
  • Assist in resolving open punch list items during the commissioning phase
