Description

The Collections Specialist is responsible to supporting credit activities and assist with collections. This is a high volume role requiring a strong, driven, professionally-oriented person who wishes to learn and grow in the credit field.

• Personal contact via telephone, e-mail, and written correspondence for assigned A/R portfolio of accounts 30 days and greater delinquent. Establish payment plans for customers facing financial difficulties or who require assistance. Work with customers to resolve billing disputes. Interact with internal departments to correct billing errors to resolve invoice errors, to facilitate payment and to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Review and analyze pre-determined checklists for approval of cash and lease transactions. Prepare, maintain and disseminate accounts receivable reports related to the accounts receivable portfolio to internal and external recipients within prescribed deadlines. 
• Assist Credit & Collection Manager in gathering data and analysis of transactions for approval. Data entry input into customer web portal for matching of invoice and purchase orders of customer billings.
• Assist Credit & Collection Manager with the preparation of ad hoc reports and analysis projects to include, but not limited to monthly department reports and month end reporting as required.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Business or Communications or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of collections experience. Any experience in a credit or finance-related position may also be considered.
• Good computer skills including proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel, and PDF editor. 
• Must have excellent customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills. 
• Any experience with a CRM and ERP is highly desired, and hands-on experience working with Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce is a plus. 
• Ability to review, analyze and come to common sense conclusions about credit-worthy decisions using company-provided criteria, credit-worthy recommendations and established company credit guidelines.
• Candidates with previous experience analyzing financial statements and credit reports preferred
• Demonstrates sound judgment in decision making, planning, and accomplishing goals. 
• Must have the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and manage several different projects at a time with little supervision.
• Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
• Excellent work habits and attendance with a stable work history.
• Ability to work overtime as needed, with limited notice.
