AVID Healthcare is Hiring a Director of Nursing (DON) Near Akron, OH

LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED AND COMPASSIONATE RN TO LEAD OUR NURSING TEAM!!!

AVID Healthcare, LLC is currently seeking an RN to lead our clinical operations. We are looking for an RN who has experience leading a Medicare certified home health agency. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for administering and coordinating clinical services and programs for our home health patients. The position will directly supervise nurses as nurse managers and be responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations of AVID. The successful candidate for the Director of Nursing position must have a current, valid Registered Nurse license, BSN preferred, and 5 years management experience at a Medicare Certified home health agency, preferably as a Director of Nursing. The DON must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, guidelines and conditions of participation pertaining to Medicare. The position of Director of Nursing is a full time, salaried position.

Responsibilities: (Please note this is not all-inclusive list of responsibilities.)

  • Reviews patient's medical diagnosis, prognosis, medications, procedures and clinical course and assesses patient pre-admission and/or admission information and determine appropriate level of care.
  • Assists clinicians in establishing immediate and long-term therapeutic goals, in setting priorities, and in developing plan of care.
  • Conducts quarterly record reviews and communicates findings and recommendations.
  • Assists in planning, implementation and evaluation of in-services and continuing education.
  • Develops objectives and standards of practice for all nursing personnel based on Home Health Condition of Participation and implements clinical changes on agency delivery of care as needed.
  • Coordinates the clinical department; assumes responsibility for continuity, quality, and safety of services delivered in compliance with State and federal regulations (Medicare Conditions of Participation).
  • Directs, evaluates, and supervises all patient care and initiates corrective actions of care.
  • Assists in formulating, revising, implementing, and evaluating policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Promotes compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third party payors, through educations, coaching, and other assistance as necessary.
  • Supervise the implementation of MDS and other health related reimbursement evaluations.
  • Perform OASIS assessments and regular home visits as needed.
  • Provides direction to subordinates, in an effort to ensure quality, compliance with Plan of Care and assessment and reassessment of patients’ needs and continuity of services by appropriate health care personnel.
  • Analyze and monitor QAPI Program, Quality Indicator and Quality Measures Reports to identify concerns and implement corrective action.
  • Assume responsibility for the analysis of incident and accident reports to determine causes and develop corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Establish lines of communication with other members of senior management and maintain a cooperative atmosphere.
  • Conduct staff meetings with all shifts for purposes of planning, coordinating and implementing nursing service policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate consistent management of nursing service problems and emergency situation.
  • Conduct interviews, hire nursing service employees, assist in orientation, conduct counseling interviews and initiate disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Supervise and/or prepare written employee performance evaluations and initiate recommendations for salary increased.
  • Complete management reports and special assignments as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Valid Ohio RN License.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience at a Medicare Certified Home Health Agency.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Director of Nursing experience at a Medicare Certified Home Health Agency.
  • Strong working knowledge of technology, proficiency in Microsoft office suite and electronic medical documentation.
  • Consistently demonstrates responsibility, accountability, and dependability.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation and ACHC Standards
  • Strong ability to supervise, guide and develop skills and performance of clinical personnel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
