Aviation Systems Engineering is Hiring a Senior Program Manager, E-2 Hawkeye Near Patuxent River, MD

Description

As our Senior Program Manager, you will serve as the program voice with the Wing, NAWCTSD, NAVAIR, Collins, NGC, Fleet Forces, PMA 205, and PMA 231 on board NAS Patuxent River. This is a 100% on-site position - not eligible for telework.

The Senior Program Manager will provide critical program management oversight and technical and business analysis of DoD acquisition systems. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Support an Integrated Product Team in the analysis and management of acquisitions contracts for a Naval Aviation Program Office
  • Provide feedback and guidance to program leadership based on communication with engineering and operational stakeholders
  • Represent various stakeholders in technical and programmatic meetings with government and industry partners
  • Be responsible for the satisfaction of technical performance and act as the primary technical contact for the program
  • Make decisions on technical problems and methods and represent the organization in conferences to resolve technical questions
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of tasking
  • Provide direction and guidance on work objectives and critical issues

Requirements

Who You Are:

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree desired from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Systems Management, Business Administration, or a related area of study
  • 15 years of relevant work experience with a minimum of 4 years of experience in acquisition; one year of this experience must be in program management
  • Experience as an E-2D Mission Commander in the fleet for at least 1 full, 3-year tour is required
  • Experience working with other Air Wing assets, primarily JSF and F-18, is desirable
  • Experience with Training Systems at the NAVAIR level, and some experience working with NAWCTSD, preferred
  • Well-versed in the area of Distributed Mission Training, as well as the LVC vision for the Air Wing and Surface Navy, with the ability to work both Surface and Air sides.
  • Ability to understand the NADTC concepts and how the connections happen at the NCTE level
  • Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Intermediate-level management and leadership training) or equivalent training) is desired
  • One of the following industry certifications is desired: PMP, IAMP, or MPM
  • You are able to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers
  • You have professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • You take a proactive approach to your work and you're able to accomplish tasks with limited guidance and supervision
  • You have demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Your organizational skills are impressive, allowing you to effectively manage competing priorities
