Responsibilities

The successful candidate will possess a diverse range of data-focused skills and experience, both technical and analytical. They will have a strong desire and capability for problem solving, data analysis and troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and experimentation.

• Working with large, complex, and disparate data sets
• Designing and implementing innovative ways to analyze and exploit the Sponsor’s data holdings
• Researching and reporting on a wide variety of Sponsor inquiries
• Raising proactive inquiries to the Sponsor based on observations and proposed data analysis/exploitation
• Solving difficult, non-routine problems by applying advanced analytical methodologies, and improving analytic methodologies
• Developing custom searches
• Communicating and coordinating with internal and external partners as needed

Qualifications

Required Experience, Skills, & Technologies

• Strong Java programming/development skills and some hands-on experience
• Experience with or knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one modern front-end framework such as Angular
• Experience with or knowledge of Spring and ORM libraries such as Hibernate/JPA
• Experience with or knowledge of RESTful services
• Strong ability to manage competing priorities and communication to multiple stakeholders

Desired Experience, Skills & Technologies

• Experience with Ext JS (v3 and v4), Groovy (v2), Grails (v2), and Bootstrap (v3 )
• Understanding of SQL and Elasticsearch
• Experience working and interacting with different types of data stores (e.g. Oracle, Elasticsearch)
• Cloud experience, particularly AWS
