- Ensure that all program and procedures are followed and implemented as described by the company guidelines.
- Maintain a high degree of quality, while working efficiently and cost effectively.
- Responsible for processing and analyzing samples collected from the farms under direct supervision of the Laboratory Lead Technician or designee.
- Maintain sufficient inventory of supplies to prevent work delays
- Accurately process and analyze samples in a time efficient manner
- Follow procedures outlined in the laboratory work instructions
- Prepare media and solutions used in the laboratory (as role requires)
- Enter samples and results into data management system
- Be willing to work weekend rotations
- Responsible for the quality of work performed as well as the quality of the product produced.
- Follow company policy and meet established procedures regarding bio-security, animal welfare, safety, ISO requirements, and drug/alcohol policy.
- Ensure all possible controls are in place to preserve and protect the purity and security of samples from possible contamination, loss or damage.
- Attendance is expected and required during normal working hours or during the assigned working schedule determined by the supervisor.
- Previous lab experience preferred but not required based on department assigned.
- Basic computer knowledge including creating documents and spreadsheets
- Ability to communicate via email
- Must possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to accomplish daily and weekly goals as well as deal with changing testing needs requested by supervisors or the veterinarian
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous lab experience a plus
