Job Description
- Assist the Superintendent in coordinating operations and activities within or between departments
- Recommends and implements measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality/performance
- Conduct employee training in equipment operations, work, and safety procedures
- Assign employee training to experienced workers
- Coordinate and monitor the activities of employees engaged in processing
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and processing sequences to meet production goals
- Recommend or execute personnel actions including but not limited to hiring, evaluations, and promotions
- Maintains all Bio-Security Protocols.
- Performs required routine and preventive maintenance activities
- Maintains hygiene program.
- Supervises production personnel.
- Maintains ISO 9001 compliance.
- May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
- High school diploma/ or equivalent
- 2 years minimum in feed production preferred
- Mechanical skills preferred
- Agile, must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, twist, lift above head
- Proactive, good at problem solving, good oral/written communication skills, effectively transmit knowledge
- Good organization skills
- Committed to high standards of ethics and integrity
- Ability to motivate and energize people to achieve desired results
- Strong skills in process improvement, measurement of output, production goals set to improve productivity
- Basic computer skills required
- Industrial maintenance experience.
- Supervisory experience.
- Ability to delegate tasks to subordinates fairly and professionally.
- Feed, Grain Handling, or Food Processing Experience desired.
- Knowledge of Business English, punctuation, arithmetic, and spelling.
- Ability to work well independently and to carry out assignments to completion with minimum instructions, adhere to prescribed routines and practices, maintain records, and generate reports that require extreme accuracy.
