Avex Aviation LLC is Hiring an Aircraft Quality Inspector Near Broomfield, CO

Job Description:

The Inspector is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of aircraft to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety requirements. This role involves evaluating maintenance activities, performing quality checks, and documenting findings to ensure the airworthiness of aircraft.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect the work of aircraft technicians performing maintenance, modification, or repairs, and overhaul of aircraft and aircraft mechanical systems to ensure adherence to standards and procedures.
  • Determine that all technical data used on all articles overhauled or repaired by the Repair Station are complete and are current with the latest revisions. This data will include manufacturers manuals, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, article specifications, related Federal Aviation Administration approved data and other technical data used by the Repair Station.
  • Research aircraft maintenance records to determine the status of “time items” service bulletins and letters, airworthiness directives, special inspection requirements, overhaul, and maintenance schedule requirements are identified.
  • Ensure that all technicians are trained, and training records are maintained.
  • Assure that required periodic checks on all inspection tools and the calibration of precision test equipment used by the Repair Station is accomplished as scheduled.
  • Ensure all facility safety protocols, procedures, training, and certifications are followed.
  • Perform final reviews of completed work orders for accuracy and completion of all work performed prior to releasing an aircraft for test flight or return to service.
  • Oversee all major repairs/alterations to ensure proper compliance is followed and required FAA paperwork has been completed.
  • Oversight of admin personnel associated with the quality department,
  • Serve as a point of contact with the FAA, managing all FAA requests, visits, Repair Station Manual revisions; maintain the Repair Station Manual so that it’s kept up to date and accurate in coordination with the Accountable Manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Airframe and Power Plant license.
  • 5 years technical experience within Part 145 repair station, of which at least 3 years are in an inspector capacity.
  • 3 years experience with turbine powered aircraft (King Air, PC-12, or similar).
  • Knowledge of inspection and certification process, a general working knowledge of aircraft and familiarity with pertinent FAR’s and approved technical reference materials.
  • Experience with Major Repairs, Major Alterations and documentation of such via 337.
  • Service-oriented and able to build productive professional relationships.
  • Proficient with computer systems (preferably Outlook Email, Word & Excel).
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • No violations.
  • Must live locally or willing to relocate here immediately.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Inspection Authorization.
  • Associate degree in Aviation
  • Experience with Engine Trend Monitoring (CAMP/ECTM)
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience with Corridor aviation software
