AUTOMATION ENGINEER


Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com) is a reputable Engineering Company that provides expertise in Systems Integration, Product Design/Development and Software/Product Testing for highly regulated industries including Digital Health, Medical Devices, IT and Aerospace. We are currently seeking a qualified Automation Engineer towork on leading edge technology products. The successful candidate for this position will be a part of highly motivated and highly technical work environment that feeds off the collective energy of a team-oriented workplace.Location: Peterborough, ON  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement control systems for complex automated sequences of events.
  • Develop motion control systems using servo drives.
  • Integrate process components such as pumps, valves, and actuators into control systems.
  • Develop target delivery systems and delivery machines for use in nuclear reactor environments.
  • Upgrade existing plant systems using modern hardware and software.
  • Develop control systems using standard industrial automation technology such as PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have 5 years experience.
  • Degree or diploma in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Automation or related field.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, particularly with Schneider/Modicon M580 PLCs.
  • Experience with HMIs, specifically Citect or Wonderware.
  • Familiarity with Siemens and HIMA automation systems.
  • Expertise in industrial automation and motion control systems.
  • Ability to work on complex motion or process control systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience in Canadian nuclear or other high-QA field (e.g. aerospace, medical, defense) preferred.
