As the Lead Machine Learning Engineer / Applied Scientist, you will spearhead and build a team dedicated to providing cutting-edge GenAI, LLM, and NLP solutions to their greatest business challenges.

What's The Job?

As the Lead Machine Learning Engineer / Applied Scientist, you'll collaborate with the existing Data team and a consultancy that set up the initial phases of our A.I. practice. Your role will be to enhance and expand upon those foundations with your expertise in the field, leading us to become the subject matter experts in providing A.I. solutions to private equity firms.

You'll be responsible for crafting an advanced search and re-ranking engine tailored to a bespoke dataset. Proficiency in building real-time machine learning frameworks and resilient data pipelines is essential.

Primarily, you should feel comfortable tackling complex business challenges with uncertain parameters, leveraging sophisticated datasets, and implementing innovative research methodologies into reliable, tested code. This position typically involves research in data mining, vector search, and refining embeddings for re-ranking purposes.

We are based in the Nashville, TN area, and this role can either be done remotely or in a hybrid setup if you're local to the area.

What Skills Do You Need?

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science / STEM field
• Experience in a Lead / Staff / Principal role
• Experience with building custom Neural Nets, NLP & re-ranking Transformers, and Vector Databases
• Strong expertise in Python and its accompanying ML packages
• Experience with Weaviate or similar technology is a plus

Compensation:

• $180,000 - $200,000 Base Salary
