Job Summary

The Senior Enterprise Interface Engineer is a member of the Enterprise Data and Interface team, which provides strategic and tactical decision support to stakeholders at all levels of Avera Health. The Engineer uses knowledge of Meditech EMR workflows and processes and works with the guidance of Integration Architects to develop complex integration solutions.

The Interface Engineer is thoroughly familiar with the use of complex systems by customers and is continually working to increase his or her knowledge of customers’ needs in a constantly evolving health care environment.

The Interface Engineer is a subject matter expert in all aspects of the Enterprise Data and Interface Team and acts as a mentor and technical trainer for colleagues and team members.

The Interface Engineer is expert in the use of the tools and techniques employed for data integration at Avera, such as Interface Engines. He or she continually strives to better his or her understanding and competency with the range of tools used by the organization and recommends new technologies and techniques as they become available.

The Interface Engineer possesses comprehensive knowledge of specific data elements involved in systems integration, data analysis/mapping experience in normalizing disparate data sets, as well as appropriate technical knowledge of hardware, software and networks.

This position requires a strong team player who can interact effectively with many levels of co-workers, clinicians and management. Strong troubleshooting, project planning, documentation, written and verbal communication abilities are fundamental skill sets used in this position.

The Interface Engineer is a highly technical role requiring proven analytical and problem solving skills, as well as familiarity with business, clinical and general health care operational environments.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in related area is preferred.
• Five years of related experience and/or training is preferred.

Certifications, Licensures and/or Registrations

• This position requires a valid driver’s license and that the employee is insurable by the Avera Health automobile liability insurance carrier. Exceptional departmental needs may be considered to waive the valid driver's license requirement.

Work Schedule

• 8:00am-5:00pm, occasional weekend/holiday/call; 80 hours every 2 weeks

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $33.50 - $50.50 per hour
