Avera has an exciting opportunity to be the first impression of Avera as a Patient Services Representative (PSR) for patient registration and scheduling.

Job Summary
- The Patient Services Representative greets and registers patients for appointments, reviews insurance and demographic information and updates as needed, takes co-pays, answers phones, schedules patients, communicates patient needs/concerns to other staff members, compiles reports, and performs other clerical duties as directed.
- The PSR also rotates with the rest of the team to cover urgent care shifts evenings and Saturdays.
- The PSR is the first point of contact for the patients, either in person or on the phone.
- Must be friendly, helpful staff who work efficiently, and are able to multi-task.
- PSR's are vital in making a positive first impression with the public.
- The functions of the clinic, billing processes and the EMR are all based on accurate information obtained by the PSR.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Medical terminology experience and Medical Assistant degree from a college or technical school is preferred.
- Customer service or related experience is preferred.
Work Schedule
- Monday - Friday; 80 hours per 2 weeks
- 7:45 am - 5:00pm
- Occasional Urgent Care shift, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
- Occasional weekend (Occasional Saturday Urgent Care shift, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm)
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
- $17.50 - $22.00 per hour
