Job Summary

• The primary function of this position is to update and cleanse the CMMS data base to ECRI nomenclature standards.
• Also, the Avera Biomedical Engineering Intern will work under close supervision, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining all types of basic biomedical equipment, technologies, devices, instruments, and systems.
• Inspect, install, and provide preventive maintenance of general biomedical equipment.
• Maintain documentation of all service events, tests, and maintenance performed on biomedical equipment.
• Intern will gain firsthand experience on the critical role that Biomedical Engineering plays in the healthcare environment.

Education and/or Experience

• Interns should have a strong interest in expanding their knowledge base within Biomedical Engineering in a healthcare setting.
• Coursework in biomedical engineering or related field preferred. Campus and community involvement is encouraged. Candidates with faculty recommendations are preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registrations

• This position requires a valid driver’s license and that the employee is insurable by the Avera Health automobile liability insurance carrier.

Work Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm; 80hrs/2wks
