In this position:
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining long-lasting relationships with customers, negotiating rates, and providing the best service to our customers. You will also focus on the fast-paced brokerage aspect of our business; helping customers move their inventory in the most cost-effective way by identifying and providing logistics solutions. You will be responsible for seeking new leads, account management, and growth of your business while providing the best service possible. The right candidate will be able to:
Seek new customers, partners, and vendors to expand Avenue’s customer network
Develop, maintain, and manage customer relationships through strong communication skills and exceptional customer service
Drive new account growth via prospecting, sourcing, and account development
Collaborate with carrier teams to provide the best shipping solution for our customers
Grow existing account base while meeting customer needs and expectations
Act as the primary point of contact for communication to customers and shippers
Requirements:
5 years experience at a 3PL in a sales-focused role; preferably direct experience in Customer Sales or Business Development
Experience developing, maintaining, and servicing your own customer accounts while growing existing accounts
Relevant industry experience is required
Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems under pressure
Analytical and critical thinking abilities
Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
Competitive and intrinsically motivated mentality
Motivated by money and driven by numbers
Ability to be personable, persistent, and assertive on all calls
Self-motivated, ability to manage own time, organizational skills
Knowledge of market and industry trends
Ability to price lanes effectively and strategically
