BASIC PURPOSE:
Responsible for assisting the Activity Directo in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the activity program for patients/residents.
JOB DUTIES:
Encourage residents/patients, through one-on-one contact to fulfil their individual leisure interests by attending scheduled activities or individual interests daily.
Assists in planning and development of activity calendar on a monthly basis.
Provide residents/patients and or family with resources to promote leisure interests, during their stay and after discharge.
Carry out scheduled activities, as delineated by a planned monthly activities calendar of events and evaluate residents to assist in documentation
Documentation that accurately reflects individual resident participation in activities.
Familiar with policy ad procedures of Aventura at West Park. Attending inservices to increase knowledge.
Communicates effectively and on an ongoing manner with care team members regarding patient/resident and unit needs.
Maintains personal grooming and attire consistent with policy
Demonstrates knowledge of patient/resident rights and responsibilities according to patient/resident's age and understanding.

Manual and finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination Corrected vision and hearing to acceptable range Mental Requirements:

A positive attitude toward health care members and diverse patient/resident population Must be flexible and available to work on weekends, holidays and evenings.
