Position Overview
The Collections Specialist is responsible for following up with invoices that have been sent to payers but have not yet been paid.
This individual is also responsible for researching denials and converting them.
The starting pay for our Collections team is $19.00 per hour, with a weekly stipend for additional in-office duties. Essential Job Functions
Process at least 5 claims per hour
Manage a portfolio of payers ensuring collections, aging and denials are being processed in a timely fashion
Assist with billing efforts by eliminating denials and keeping payer rules up to date
Perform month end reconciliation; assisting other departments as needed
Meet daily, monthly and quarterly collection goals set by management
Ensure work being performed meets internal and external compliance requirements
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 2 years related experience; healthcare, medical office, customer service preferred
Proficient in Microsoft suite of products including Outlook, Word and Excel
Strong basic math and accounting skills
Proven ability to manage in a high call volume environment with accuracy and efficiency

Must have strong sense of smell and touch
Environment
Performs duties in an office environment during agency operating hours
Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
